2025 MLB All-Star Picks: The 64 Players Who Should Be Selected

The starters for the 2025 MLB All-Star Game were announced on Wednesday night, but who else deserves a spot in Atlanta on July 15? Before unveiling the complete list of 64 All-Star selections this Sunday, FOX Sports MLB writers Rowan Kavner and Deesha Thosar shared their own picks for the pitcher and position player reserves they believe should complete the rosters.

The selections below follow the All-Star rules: 20 position players and 12 pitchers (including at least three relievers) are chosen for both teams, and every MLB club will have at least one representative. There are always more deserving players than available spots, but that’s what makes this exercise fun.

Analysis: The toughest omission was Garcia, who should be the first backup in case of an injury to a position player. Ultimately, the 21 homers from Caminero and 17 from Paredes, who have been instrumental in propelling the Astros to first place, gave them the nod phdream vip login password. Bregman would have easily made it had he not been injured. Choosing between Arozarena, who’s in incredible form, and Rodriguez was difficult, especially for Seattle fans. The fan vote for Báez as a starter is a nice story, but he hasn’t played the outfield lately and there’s no solid argument to select him over Arozarena. The Angels needed representation, and Adell stood out as a top candidate, making it a great narrative for this former top prospect putting together a breakout season at 26. Leaving off two of Seattle’s star outfielders was tough, but Buxton and Springer clearly deserved recognition, especially given Springer’s outstanding season compared to his last All-Star appearance.

Analysis: Skubal is having a fantastic season and deserves to start again. Brown leads the league in ERA, and Valdez has been key for the first-place Astros. Crochet leads in strikeouts and Fried looks like a Cy Young contender. DeGrom is instrumental for the Rangers, who have the lowest starters’ ERA this season. Bubic’s 2.25 ERA is well-deserved, and Skubal is the only AL pitcher with a lower WHIP than Ryan. Smith had a hot start but has since struggled; he’s included due to the need for a White Sox representative. AL saves leader Hader, alongside Munoz and Chapman, stands out, but many worthy bullpen pitchers missed the cut pldt casino login registration. Analysis: While many Dodgers players are deserving, it’s crucial not to fill the entire NL team with them. Hence, Betts, Pages, Edman, and Muncy did not make the cut this year to ensure all 15 teams have representation. The NL shortstop position is once again competitive. Choosing between Abrams and De La Cruz was hard, but the latter’s impressive slugging gave him an edge. Some might be surprised to see Soto on the roster despite a slow start, but his at-bats are an entertaining highlight, and he’s regained form recently. Analysis: While Chris Sale deserves an All-Star nod, an injury keeps him off this list. There was strong support for Spencer Schwellenbach as his replacement, but he’s also sidelined. Given the depth of relief pitchers this year, selecting a fourth from the bullpen while maintaining a full starting rotation was tough. Ultimately, Holmes has made a strong case thanks to his smooth transition from closer to starting pitcher, but the Mets already have considerable representation. There could be an argument for replacing Suarez based on ERA, but saves matter too. Many players missed out, showcasing the tough decisions to make.
