Shane van Gisbergen has extended his winning streak to two consecutive races and secured three victories in the last five weeks, showcasing another dominant performance on a road course 25 phdream login. The New Zealander proved once again that he is in a league of his own when it comes to road and street courses, leading 97 out of 110 laps at Sonoma Raceway on Sunday, winning from the pole position. All three of his victories this year have been claimed from the pole, which ties him with Jeff Gordon for a NASCAR record of three straight road course wins from the top starting spot, a feat accomplished by Gordon between the 1998 and 1999 seasons.

Victory number four for van Gisbergen, who surprised the NASCAR world in 2023 by debuting at the Chicago street course race from Australian V8 Supercars and winning, seemed like a foregone conclusion before the teams even arrived at the scenic California wine country venue. His competitors have acknowledged that “SVG” has perfected a unique braking technique mastered back in Australia, one that none of them—primarily oval specialists—can replicate.

The win in Chicago two years ago prompted van Gisbergen to relocate to the United States for a career change, where he now drives stock cars for Trackhouse Racing. He and teammate Ross Chastain have infused energy into the team during this summer stretch, with Chastain recently kicking things off with a victory at the Coca-Cola 600 over the Memorial Day weekend.

Van Gisbergen is now the fastest driver to secure four Cup Series victories since Parnelli Jones did so in 1969. His win at Sonoma marked the fourth victory for Trackhouse in just eight weeks. Van Gisbergen also placed second from pole in Saturday’s Xfinity Series race.

Despite dominating once more, van Gisbergen had to pit from the lead with 27 laps remaining and then fought his way back to the front. He reclaimed the lead with a pass of Michael McDowell with 19 laps left, but two late cautions required him to execute crucial restarts to secure the victory in his Chevrolet. Chase Briscoe finished second in a Toyota for Joe Gibbs Racing, followed by Chase Elliott in a Chevrolet for Hendrick Motorsports. McDowell, in a Chevy for Spire Motorsports, came in fourth, and Christopher Bell in a Toyota for Joe Gibbs Racing rounded out the top five distributors in the philippines.
